Research Use Only (RUO) Policy
Effective date: 2026-09-16 · Last updated: 2026-09-27
1. Scope
All products supplied by Legacy BioLabs (“Legacy BioLabs”, “we”, “us”) are furnished exclusively for laboratory research use. Every compound we sell is designated Research Use Only (RUO).
Our products are not drugs, biologics, dietary supplements, foods, cosmetics, or medical devices. They have not been evaluated or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or by any other regulatory authority for any medical, diagnostic, or therapeutic purpose.
By accessing this website, creating an account, or placing an order, you accept this policy in full.
2. No human or veterinary use
Products supplied by Legacy BioLabs are not intended for, and must not be used for:
- Human consumption, administration, or application by any route
- Veterinary or other animal administration
- Injection, ingestion, inhalation, or topical application in humans or animals
- Clinical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures
- Compounding, formulation, or manufacture of any product intended for human or animal use
- Manufacture of food, beverages, dietary supplements, or cosmetics
This restriction is absolute. It is not waived by a purchaser’s credentials, intentions, or jurisdiction.
3. Qualified purchasers only
By placing an order, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 21 years of age
- You are a qualified researcher, or are purchasing on behalf of a research institution, laboratory, or commercial research organization
- You are acquiring the product solely for legitimate in vitro or laboratory research
- You possess the training, facilities, and equipment to handle research chemicals safely
- You will use and store the product only in a controlled laboratory environment
- You will comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and institutional requirements
- The information you provide to us is accurate
We do not sell to individuals purchasing for personal use. There is no personal use of a research-use-only compound that falls within this policy.
4. No medical claims, and no use guidance
Information published on this website — product listings, specifications, certificates, and correspondence — is provided for product identification and research context only.
Nothing we publish or communicate constitutes medical advice, treatment guidance, clinical instruction, diagnostic information, or a health recommendation. We make no claim that any product diagnoses, treats, cures, mitigates, or prevents any disease or condition, and we do not describe physiological, metabolic, cosmetic, or performance effects of any compound.
We do not supply dosing information, reconstitution instructions, administration protocols, cycles, or combination guidance, and we will not provide them on request. Requests of this kind fall outside the scope of research-use supply and will not be answered.
5. What our certificates of analysis do and do not establish
Each purchasable product is supplied with a certificate of analysis (COA) for the specific lot shipped. Our certificates report analytical results — typically HPLC purity determination and mass spectrometry identity confirmation — for a sample of that lot, as measured by an independent third-party laboratory on the date stated on the certificate.
A certificate of analysis:
- Reports the analytical characteristics of the tested sample, on the stated date, by the stated method
- Does not constitute approval, clearance, or endorsement by any regulatory authority
- Does not establish fitness for any particular purpose
- Does not establish safety or suitability for use in or on humans or animals
- Does not extend to a compound after it leaves our custody, or to a compound that has been improperly stored, transferred, subdivided, or reconstituted
Purity figures published on this site are taken from the certificate for the lot being sold. Where a lot’s certificate reports a value, we publish that value.
6. Handling, storage, and disposal
Research chemicals may present hazards if improperly handled. On receipt, the purchaser assumes full responsibility for:
- Safe handling, including appropriate personal protective equipment and containment
- Storage under the conditions stated on the product record and certificate
- Institutional review, approval, and record-keeping where applicable
- Compliance with applicable chemical hygiene, occupational safety, and transport requirements
- Lawful disposal of unused compounds, containers, and waste
Legacy BioLabs is not responsible for misuse, improper handling, improper storage, unauthorised transfer, or any application outside the scope of this policy.
7. Prohibited uses
You may not purchase, use, transfer, or resell our products for:
- Any human or animal administration
- Compounding or formulation for human or animal use
- Manufacture of drugs, supplements, foods, beverages, or cosmetics
- Resale or redistribution to any party for a purpose prohibited by this policy
- Any purpose prohibited by applicable federal, state, local, or institutional law
Attempting to purchase for a prohibited purpose may result in immediate order cancellation, refusal of refund where the order has shipped, permanent account termination, and — where we are required or permitted by law — a report to the appropriate authority.
8. Resale and redistribution
Products are supplied for use by the purchasing researcher or institution. Resale, redistribution, or transfer to a third party requires our prior written consent, and any onward transfer must carry this policy and the research-use designation with it. Repackaging, relabelling, or subdividing our compounds for onward sale is prohibited.
9. Shipping limitations
We ship within the United States only. We do not ship to any destination excluded at checkout under applicable law. We may decline to ship to any address where doing so would conflict with applicable law or with this policy.
Title and risk of loss pass to the purchaser when the carrier accepts the shipment.
10. Right to refuse or cancel
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without stating a reason, to:
- Refuse or cancel any order
- Limit order quantities or product availability
- Require additional verification of research affiliation before shipping
- Suspend, restrict, or terminate any account
We exercise this right where we have reason to believe a purchase may fall outside this policy. Refusing a sale is always available to us and we will use it.
All sales are final. Research compounds are not accepted for return once they leave our custody, because a certificate of analysis cannot extend to compounds outside that custody (see §5).
11. Records of your affirmation
When you pass our researcher verification screen and when you place an order, we record the exact affirmation text you accepted and a UTC timestamp. Account holders’ affirmations are additionally stored against their account record.
We retain these records to evidence the basis on which each sale was made. Their handling is described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the law of the State of Florida, Legacy BioLabs supplies its products as is and for laboratory research use only, and disclaims all warranties not expressly stated in this policy, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Legacy BioLabs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from use, handling, storage, transfer, or disposal of a product, or from any use contrary to this policy. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount paid to us for that product. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, Florida.
13. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy. The effective date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the site or placement of an order after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
14. Acceptance
By accessing this website, passing our researcher verification screen, creating an account, or placing an order, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Research Use Only Policy and agree to be bound by it. Failure to comply may result in order cancellation, account termination, and legal action where appropriate.

16. Research-use FAQ
Can these compounds be used by people or animals? No. They are supplied solely for laboratory research and must not be used in or on humans or animals.
Does a certificate or lot record establish safety or medical suitability? No. Lot documentation records analytical information for the identified lot; it does not establish regulatory approval, safety, or fitness for human or animal use.
Can Legacy BioLabs provide clinical or personal-use instructions? No. Those requests fall outside the scope of research-use supply.
What happens if an order appears inconsistent with this policy? Legacy BioLabs may request more information, refuse or cancel an unfulfilled order, or restrict an account.
For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary consumption.
